Okay Well, That Did Not Work-LBC cooking (Lazy B**** Cooking)

Whether it’s a science or not, you can definitely tell when there’s love in a dish.

Okay, I admit it. I have a short attention span when it comes to certain things.

Cooking isn’t my thing. Even though I’m not a big fan, the whole family has become accustomed to eating on a regular time and basis.

Unfortunately, that’s where I went wrong, but no one can change the past.

My mother, grandmothers, other family members, friends, and others taught me how to cook over the years. From fresh homemade tortillas, Barbacoa, Italian, chicken fried steaks, meatloaves, four-cheese butternut squash, and more. I can do it all.

I can not make and do not laugh fake boxed mashed potatoes.

To sum up, while I am a capable cook, I am not fond of cooking. I don’t mind it every once in a while.

I look forward to the days we can eat out. In a blue moon my husband, who can really throw down in the kitchen, steps up. These are rare occasions though. In his defense, he works full time and is tired when he does make it home.

The process of cooking is time-consuming, and I’d rather do anything else.

What do you do when your family likes to eat, but you hate to cook? You figure out a way around it. That’s what I did, for a while anyway.

Soups and sandwiches aren’t really satisfying. I’ve found that crockpots and microwaves work well. Crockpot meals are okay, but sometimes they lack something. Microwave-able things are usually ahh.

However, these are not the sources of LBC.

When I was supposed to be cooking, I had a habit of walking off doing other chores like laundry, picking up rooms, or trying to fulfill a family member’s request. There were four kids and one husband who always needed something even to this day. Of course, doing this caused me to make our dinners a little shell, we say toasty or dry if I make it back in time.

In one particular case, I set out the meal and my husband asked what he was having.

I told him I call it Lazy B**** Cooking AND IT STUCK!

I was clearly in a mood that day. I have either big-mouthed kids or a big-mouthed husband!

Everyone in the family, including my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends, started randomly asking me what’s on the LBC menu.

My dad, who owned his own restaurant, Pa’s Country Kitchen, suggested I should create a cookbook.

My first reaction was, “Oh, you got jokes!” Then I thought about it, that’s not a bad idea. I did some research looking up the name to see if anyone else had the idea and found a couple of things kind of like it but not the same. They use names like easy cook meals.

You can look forward to the LBC Cookbook in the future, half of it has been completed.

Even though the family has grown and moved around and added to the family pile, I still cook for everyone. Sundays. I found the best LBC meals are potlucks, which have become our new tradition.

I don’t always like cooking on a regular basis but I do enjoy writing. Just like my cooking, it’s not always great, but it is edible. I hope you are having a wonderful day!
